In late November Cindy and I visited a very nice family. They are a mom, dad, and two young children. They are good people. We certainly enjoyed our visit with them.
Before we left the children were asked to tell us their “Family Rules”. They recited them together. These were the Family Rules for their family:
- Listen
- Always tell the truth
- Be kind
Psalm 78:1 CSB - My people, hear my instruction; listen to the words from my mouth.
Proverbs 1:5 CSB - Let a wise person listen and increase learning, and let a discerning person obtain guidance
James 1:19 CSB - My dear brothers and sisters, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger
Always Tell The Truth
Psalm 119:30 CSB - I have chosen the way of truth; I have set your ordinances before me.
Proverbs 12:17 CSB - Whoever speaks the truth declares what is right, but a false witness speaks deceit.
Ephesians 4:25 CSB - Therefore, putting away lying, speak the truth, each one to his neighbor, because we are members of one another.
Proverbs 11:17 CSB - A kind man benefits himself, but a cruel person brings ruin on himself.
Ephesians 4:32 CSB - And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.
Colossians 3:12 CSB - Therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience
This is just great advise for everyone everywhere at all times. If you want to see a dramatic change in your life put these rules in action in your life.
These rules will change your attitude. Let’s face it, some of us need an attitude adjustment from time to time. Let’s try them. Let’s put them in to action in our lives.
Let us listen, always tell the truth and be kind to others. See what happens.
Until next time...enjoy the journey!
